Itinerary in Detail-RJ-4

Day 1Day 2Day 3Day 4

Arrive at Damodra

Arrive near village Damodra, a 30 minutes of drive from Jaisalmer, to check-in onboard at Taurus. Vast open space of arid landscape, absolutely quiet and peaceful, free of man-made disturbances and clean atmosphere with an unprecedented peace and quietness will leave you overwhelmed! Night stay onboard Taurus.

It’s a location which will offer you a glimpse into the outback of Australia and Africa; tranquility at its best, catalyst to rejuvenation! The sky gazing at this place even for novices is an overwhelming experience. If there is moon then you wouldn’t have experienced such a ‘moon-lit-night’. Enjoying an outdoor meal in such a setting in comfort is beyond words and any price-tag.

Camel Safari to Khaba Fort

<img src="caravan offbeat holidays around jaisalmer.jpeg" alt="caravan offbeat holidays in rajasthan jaisalmer camp at khaba fort with campervan trailer nomadic unique experience rural india">

Aerial view of Khaba Fort, its around 25 kms from Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

We bet it’s going to be your best cup of tea as the setting can’t be better than this. Alongwith your tea witness a captivating crimson sunrise over a vast open undulating landscape. The experience offered by Taurus in a setting like this, where there is infinite tranquility and silence is undeniably matchless.

Peacocks on the wall of Khaba Fort

While you are enjoying your breakfast, camels arrive with guttural sounds to invite you for an enthralling ride across the countryside. It’s time to experience the ancient life of camels being taken on trade expeditions called ‘karvan’ and Taurus will be waiting for you at Khaba Fort to host you with a ‘field lunch’ offering a commanding view over the village, part in ruins. Taurus drives you through a strikingly unique landscape to Khuri, a typical Rajasthani village with thatched huts, far less crowded than other tourist places. We are here to enjoy cultural folk evening after watching the mesmerising sunset.

Night stay onboard Taurus.

A special drive on border-road to Munabao

Munabao Railway Station

Enjoying a steaming cup of tea in the delight of such locations and the warmth of Taurus while the sun rises may turn you poetic and desire to live like a ‘free bird’ by dismantling the shackles of materialistic world!

After early breakfast, Taurus revs up and sets its bearings to offer you peep into hidden world on the way to Munabao. It’s an exhilarating drive 130 kms on the BORDER ROAD (hugging the border).

Not everyone gets a chance to tread this border-road hugging the Indo-Pak border. The eerie drive will offer a ‘dream drive’ to you as there is hardly any traffic or habitation on this road. The road from Khuri to Barmer of 252 kms has no infrastructure for tourists. On this stretch, we will come across the simplest true Indians who offer genuine smile and warmth, strange to the cities. It’s a road which you wouldn’t have imagined! We connect with pristine sand-dunes, never been touched by tourists other than explorers. Only a few get to tread this border road hugging the Indo-Pak border, as its devoid of infrastructure to support touristy activities. Munabao is right on the Indo-Pak border so close one could blow ‘water bubbles’ into Pakistan!

On arrival at Munabao, we will visit the border post to ‘meet and greet’ the soldiers and to express our gratitude. Visiting any ‘border post’ is a unique encounter and you experience adrenalin surge and our respect increases manyfolds for the soldiers who guard our border 24×7 under harsh conditions while we sleep in peace. You will be in awe to see even basics are of life are abysmally scanty at such locations. Our brave soldiers risk their life for our sleep, it’s here you experience patriotism first-hand.
We bet no one can offer this experience, especially with homely comfort, other than Taurus.
Night stay at onboard Taurus somewhere in the middle of nowhere!

Barmer

After a relaxed breakfast, we visit a local sweet shop to buy world famous “GADRA LADDOO”. You will be treated like a star here in this small town and shopping becomes an unforgettable experience as you will be showered with warmth by the curious rural folk. Let’s have a pit stop in the middle of nowhere for tea break, while driving to Barmer.

War Memorial of The India Railways

While proceeding to Barmer, we stop at the War Memorial of the Indian Railways. Its an unknown war memorial to commemorate the sacrifice 17 railway personnel who made supreme sacrifice while maintaining the supply lines for the battle front of the Indian Army in 1965.

Also, we will visit the Kiradu Temple complex in ruins, called unexplored Khajuraho of Rajasthan.
